80’S AND NEWER V8 RULES:
- Drivers must be at least 16 years of age.
- 16 and 17 year olds need to have a signed consent waiver by parents or guardian to participate.
- Driver must furnish his/her own car.
- All drivers and pit crew must sign a liability waiver and purchase a pit pass before entering the pit area or track.
- All drivers must attend the driver’s meeting prior to race time.
- Any driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to compete.
- No alcohol or drugs permitted in pits.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct could result in ban or suspension from infield.
All drivers must have a helmet, safety shield/safety glasses, and working seat belt in car!
For driver safety 2 bars or 1″ flat bar strapping must be mounted vertically from firewall to roof over the windshield area, must be bolted or welded to sheet metal, no rear window bars allowed.

Aftermarket or homemade crossmember saddles permitted for engine mounting purposes ONLY!
For driver safety 2) 1″ round or square tube or 2) 2″ x
1/4″ flat bar strapping, or 3/8″ chain must be mounted vertically from firewall to roof over the windshield area, must be bolted or welded to sheet metal, a rear window bar (1bar) is allowed and bars must be 1″ round or square tube, 2×1/4″ flat bar, or 3/8″ chain. These are meant for safety and not reinforcement. Bars may not attach to cage or gas tank protector. Rear bar may touch trunk but may only be attached 6″ on roof and 6″ on trunk.
Car appearance
Each car needs their own distinct numer where it can easily be read in contrasting colors. Roof sign recommended, but numbers on doors must be visible!
Driver Protection in Car
A 4 BAR enclosure area around the inside IS REQUIRED. One dash bar, two side bars, and a seat bar. Door bars may run from dash area no closer to firewall than 5″ to no farther than 1 ft. [12 inches] behind driver’s seat. No closer to floor than 5”, all bars must be no larger than 6″ diameter. Side bars you may use 6″ c channel for flat mounting. A fifth bar may be added in the middle, for the purpose of mounting shifter and switches. Attaching bars must only be done at the sides. DO NOT ATTACH TO ANY BARS TO THE FLOOR ANY WHERE!. This is used for protection not reinforcement. Halos are allowed but no kick outs on halos and halo ends must not be more then 6″ above cross bar
Hood
All CARS MUST HAVE A HOOD! Hood must have a hole cut over carb in case of fire and must be tied down after inspection. You may use angle iron (3 spots of 2×2 angle iron per side max 4″ long) on fender and hood to mount. If done that way a hole in hood must be at least 2′ x3′. MUST BE OPEN FOR INSPECTION!
Fuel Cells
Fuel cells must be used and mounted in back seat area or mounted to cage!! No rubber tie downs or zip ties! Must be bolted or chained In place and must not move!! Fuel lines must be ran in a safe manner and be protected from cutting or crushing. Gas tank protectors must be no wider than 24″ at the package tray/speaker deck. Can use up to 8″ channel for protector and it must be mounted vertically at package tray / speaker deck area. Protector must be 5″ off floor, (protector must not be touching any body sheet metal or packaging tray area on fresh cars)
Brakes
Brakes must having woking brake system, pinion brakes are ok provided there is NO Rear Axle BRACING Done!
Shifters
Any style may be used.
Pedals
Aftermarket pedals assemblies may be used
Steering
Steering may be altered from steering box to steering wheel only, no steering box swaps or altercations. Any style column may be used. You may weld your tie rod sleeves or run aftermarket tie rods. Stock tie rods may be reinforced
You may crease body lines. Fender well sheet metal may be cut or rolled for clearance purposes and bolted back together with no more then 6 bolts per wheel well.
Sunroof hole must be covered and secured with same thickness metal as the roof.
Doors
Doors must be tied securely, can chain or weld. You are allowed to use 3″ x 3″ x 3/16″ plates on all other doors in up to 8 spots per door. ONLY THE DRIVERS DOOR MAY BE WELDED FULLY INNER/OUTTER SEAMS! If the DRIVERS DOOR comes open, you are DISQUALIFIED!
Tires
Tires may be doubled, tubed, any ply, any tread but must be air filled only NO SOLID TIRES!!
Wheels
Weld in centers are ok, NO bead locks or bead stiffeners, valve stem protectors OK on NON drive wheels, no metal sidewall protectors on drive tires.
Trunk
Must use wire or chain or weld in up to 8 locations with 3″x 3″ 3/16″ plate. Tucking is OK. NO WEDGING! Keep quarter panels vertical! NO Sedanogons! (wagon made to look like sedan) If trunk is welded must have a 8″× 8″ inspection hole cut out. Canoeing of trunks is ok, but must not touch floor and can’t be lowered more then 6″ from factory trunk deck height.
Frames
No hot tilting! You may cold tilt pretending in rear only! DONT GET CARRIED AWAY! You may shorten in front of rad support ONLY! May not move rad support or change rad support
Hump plates legal being they are form to hump and no longer then 26″ 1/4 thick max, must be a contoured plate, if no hump plate is used you may hammer and shape rear frame rails, and use 1/2 chain from hump to hump (side to side) 1 or the other. May NOT use plates and chain together!
Front of frame from A-arms forward may be seam welded, frame plates may be used in any way desired from A-arms forward, (1 plate per frame rail, 2 plates total on front, plate may be 5″×12″ and no thicker then 1/4″)
Any and all fix it plates on pre-ran cars must be pre-approved by Ryan Fisher or designated BMM official or you will be disqualified! Up to 8 plates total will be allowed, 2 per frame rail forward of trans-crossmember, and 2 per frame rail rear of the trans-crossmember.
Body Mounts
1/2″ or 5/8″ all thread or 1/2″ or 5/8″ bolts maximum may be used in place of factory body mount bolts, all rubber mounts and/or rubber hockey pucks must be in place, mounts may be swapped from vehicle to vehicle. 2) 3″×3″×1/4″ washers max may be used at each body mount (1 on top/1 on bottom) per mount. If altering body mounts it must be done as stated above or left stock.
DRIVERS MAY ADD UP TO 4 ADDITIONAL BODY MOUNTS!
Roof chains may be used. Chain must be no bigger then 3/8 chain. Chains can run from floor/body mount to roof. Chain may NOT touch any part of frame, cage, halo or gas tank protector. 4 chains max, 2 per side of car All threaded rod may run though body mount/rad support/ hood in 2 spots and be used as 2 hood tie down spots and in 2 spots in the rear up through the
speaker deck area. You may have an up to a 4 inch tall 2″ wide metal spacer or stacked rubber hockey puck mount under rad support.
Engine and Transmission
Swaps between manufacturers is ok. Mount welding is allowed, lower cradle with PULLEY PROTECTOR is OK. Distributor protector OK, however it may NOT have a carb halo on it and may NOT touch any sheet metal on fresh cars, dp must not at any time (fresh or preran) touch any cage bars behind firewall. This is for distributor protection not reinforcement. NO BRACES of any kind for transmission, NO steel bell housings or aftermarket bell housings, transmission crossmember may be welded in place or a homemade crossmember can be used but must be no larger then 1 -1/2″ × 1 – 1/2″ sq or rd tube from rail to rail with 1) 3″x6″ 1/4″ thick max plate on each end to mount to frame and 1) 3″x6″ 1/4″ thick plate for mount for transmission, engine and transmission may be chained with 3/8 chain.
Water only in cooling system. Please drain antifreeze prior to arrival at the track. Electric fans only. (NO NO NO engine mounted fans permitted!!) All engine electric cooling fans must be under hood. No external radiator guards/protectors. Trans coolers may be relocated under hood or in back seat area and may only be bolted to sheet metal only. May by pass rad or loop rad hoses.
SLIDER Drive shafts are OK!
Rear Axles
Rear axle swaps will be allowed, 5,6, or 8 lug OK Absolutely no! rear axle bracing of any kind! Only added brackets on rear should be for pinion brake if running one! Welded or locked differential allowed.
Suspension
Suspension may be stiffened or welded for ride height. A-arms may be welded down with 2) 2″x 4″ 1/4″ thick, 2 plates per arm or with a 1″ thick piece of sq. or round tube from lower A-arm to frame.
No suspension conversions other then watts link conversion.
If car is originally leaf sprung, you may use 2 extra clamps per side 2″ wide 3/16″ thick two 3/8′ bolts each. You may use homemade shocks or all threaded rod in the shocks place or you may pipe shocks suspension may be chained as well 1 chain per side, 4 chains total (1 per wheel well)
Bumpers
All cars will have bumpers chained or wired to car In 2 locations per bumper both bumpers must have this done for you to pass tech in all classes!!! We don’t want to be stopping the show to be picking up bumpers all the time!!
Maximum height is 23″ to bottom of bumper. You may use any factory automobile bumper (NO loaded bumpers). You may seam weld bumper.
Homemade bumpers will be allowed but must be built from FLAT, HOLLOW type steel 1/4″ thick x 4″ deep x 8 ” high and NO wider than 5″ past vehicle frame rail, NO points or sharp edges NO EXCEPTIONS. MUST BE HOLLOW! You may stack 2 pieces of tube together to make the 4″x8″ bumper dimension.
Bumper Shocks and Mounting
Mount brackets may be switched from car to car but must be used in original manner. Bumper may be welded to stock mount rackets/shock. Shocks may be welded to prevent collapse. Brackets may be welded to frame as long as it doesn’t interfere with frame rules. You may weld bumper directly to the frame, however if you choose that method all other mounts and brackets must be removed. No homemade shocks or brackets. All cars must have bumpers and must have not have projecting mounts.
Batteries
Two batteries permitted, batteries may be moved inside to the passenger side floorboard. Batteries Must in a secure box and be covered (No metal covers). We recommend metal battery box be bolted to floor with no smaller then a 3/8″ bolt.
NO EXTRA ANYTHING ALLOWED!
Just because it isn’t in the rules doesn’t make it legal.
Winning Cars will be inspected after feature event.
If something is found illegal after you run, all winnings and placing will be forfeited.
